Susan earned her doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Her graduate school research involved visible and UV luminescence and developed her skills in instrumentation and signal processing. Following graduation, Susan went to work for Nobel Laureate Richard Smalley at Rice University in Houston. It was from Professor Smalley's lab that Susan was recruited by Tektronix to work as a materials scientist in display technologies.
During her tenure in Tek's Display Devices Group, Susan did research into the promise and prospects of display materials and devices of commercial interest today. Ultimately, Susan spent 16 years doing new technology and product R&D at Tektronix and garnered along the way four US patents.
It was during her involvement with the development of Tek's hot wax ink jet printing technology (now owned by Xerox) that Susan's interests in the business side of high technology began. Susan left Tektronix to develop her own expertise in business by enrolling in Portland State University's MBA program in Portland, Oregon. She graduated from that program in 2001 and founded Federici Business Group in 2002.
Today, Susan and her Federici Business Group collaborators work with hardware and software technology companies to help them create competitive advantages for themselves through a combination of market and competitive environment research, analysis and synthesis.
In addition to her consulting and workshop activities, Susan is active in Portland's business and technology communities. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Portland, a senior member and secretary of the Oregon Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, on the steering committee of the Oregon chapter of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals and a member of both the Society for Information Display
and the Product Development and Management Association.

Wilson is a native of Portland, Oregon. He attended David Douglas High School, leaving after graduation to go to college in California at Standford University. Wilson graduated from Standford and returned to Oregon to attend graduate school at Oregon State University in Corvallis.
